It certainly wasn’t the February we were hoping for but despite the lack of snow we were able to hold onto a decent base. Even after the first of the two vacation weeks and warm temps a lot of the base still remains. As I write this the temps are dropping down to seasonal norms and two substantial storms are in the forecast for the next few days. Our hopes are to recover the system and maintain it through our rescheduled Winter Carnival on March 20th. If and when this happens we will consider this season a successful one. If not, it will be important to strive on our off season fundraisers.

Last month we put together a nominating committee. Our committee consists of Dave Sweeney, Fred Watson and Ken Walden. If anyone wants to run for a position or nominate someone for a position please contact Dave, Fred or Ken. Remember, to run for a position, you must be a member in good standing as defined in our bylaws. All board positions are available; however all but the treasurer are willing to continue on.

In the past couple of months we have opened up the clubhouse to a couple snow dance socials and although I do not recall anyone doing a snow dance we have had a bon fire and fun ‘n’ games inside. Please check out the website for more information. If anyone else has any ideas on how we can get more members involved in the club please contact us via email from the website. We need at least three more weeks of snow; keep dancing!!

Above are some pictures from a recent trip some club members made to northern New Hampshire.    We may not have had good snow here in SOS land, but there is still great riding to be done  in our state if you know where to look for it!  Let's hope next year brings back some generous snow amounts!!
