Message From The President

Wow, what a great season!  From opening day through the warm spells and beyond we had great riding.  We need to thank Dave and the grooming crew for the great job they did this year.  I, for one, am exhausted.  The clubhouse was rocking this year.  Big thanks to all who helped with the open houses this year, Fred and Donna did a great job organizing the Saturdays.  Thank you Bonny for merchandising all of our Scrub Oak products; you did a fantastic job!  We should be proud to be members of the best volunteer group in the State (my opinion).  Volunteer turnout was outstanding this year!  For all who got out and did a little to help the core, we really appreciate you and all that you did.  Spread the word, contact any Board member (listed below) and get on the email list for work parties and summer events.  The snow may be gone but the “fun”d raising doesn’t stop there.  Lisa Charrette has a bunch of activities planned for the upcoming season, so stay informed on the website.  I also want to thank Randi for the great job, as always, with the membership.  We exceeded 600 families this year.  Thank you, Ann for the newsletter and keeping track of the minutes.   Our website has been tweaked a bit this year, adding up-to-date trail reports, thank you Wayne Jr. and, as always, Sue for a great job on the website.  I would like to close with thanks to retiring director Ron Force, and special thanks to retiring officers Stephen and Heidi Jones for their time and dedication to the Scrub Oak Scramblers and members alike over many years.  Your time and efforts while “in office” are appreciated by all and will be hard to match.

Trail Master's Report by David Charrette

UNBELIEVABLE, over 17 weeks of riding in S.O.S. country and it has now come to a close.
It is already grant time for next season and a busy one it will be. We have a couple of reroutes, open a few old trails and many upgrades such as stump & rock removal, building/repairing bridges and more. Please watch the web site. If you are on our e-mail list Paul will send out dates and times of the work parties, as he has done in the past. Thanks Paul!  If you’re not on the email list but would like to be, contact Paul Savignano at paulsav70@aol.com.  I'd like to thank Wayne Delano for keeping our trail report up to date.  Thank you to all who helped cook breakfast for and participated in our many work parties throughout the year, and any people I may have missed.  Looking forward to another great season.  Thank you!
